Ciara’s work reflects on the full complexity of the Beecher family legacy, including the work of Harriet Beecher Stowe, her sister Catharine Beecher—founder of home economics—and their grand-niece, Charlotte Perkins Gilman—feminist, eugenicist, and author of “The Yellow Wallpaper.”
